  • You enjoyed Les Cars Rouges and this is what you think of us: - 16-04-2013

“Great way to see the city”

“We were really lucky with the weather in January when we took this trip. We took the boat offer as well. The bus was pretty empty as we went outside of the school holidays so we didn’t have a problem with seats upstairs and the commentary was good. If you are getting off at the Eiffel Tower to have a look its actually nice to get off at the Trocadero stop as the view of the tower is really good and it’s only a 5/10 walk to the Tower from there.”
Reviewed of Kitstar, England 14 February 2013, Tripadvisor.

    “Nice overview of the city”

“This tour provides a nice overview of Paris city center. You see all the main attractions along the way. We actually ended up doing this as a last thing in Paris, and it nicely summed up almost everything we had seen there during our week […]”

  • You did enjoy Les Cars Rouges and let us know... - 03-06-2011

Polkadotj86, Stirling, UK, shares her Les Cars Rouges'experience:

We chose “Les cars rouges” over the competitor l'Open tour due to only being there for the weekend and knowing it stopped near all the main places we wanted to visit. The other buses have more stops over 4 different routes - but the main tour route covers similar ground to” Les Cars Rouges”. The price was 26€ each paid on the bus for the two day ticket. Listening to the guide through the headphones gave just enough information for me to take in and try to remember.
We never had to wait more than 5-10 minutes for a bus to arrive, there were many going about that we saw. At the weekend it runs until about 8 pm so you just need to be aware of your time if you want to get back to your original stop by then!
Overall, just as we expected and required - a great way to see all the main sites and get your bearings. The only site it does not go near to is Sacre Coeur of Montmartre (would require changing buses on the competitor). We used the metro to get here.

Enjoy a Sightseeing Tour with Les Cars Rouges !

  • When Paris made history ... - 13-03-2011

Following the Franco-Prussian War of 1870 and the siege of Paris by the the Prussian army, the city rose in February 1871 against the government of Aldolphe Thiers, newly elected to sign a peace treaty with the Prussia. Faced with Paris insurrection, the government of Adolphe Thiers left the Capital and took refuge in Versailles. The Parisians held their elections on 26th March to appoint members of the Council of the Commune. Among those elected were such illustrious figures such as the writer Jules Vallès and the painter Gustave Courbet...This Commune experience was however brief. Versailles troops took back the city on May 28th 1871 followed by a ruthless crackdown which is known as the "bloody week".

For the 140th anniversary of the Paris Commune, an exhibition in the lobby of the “Hôtel de Ville” will be held. A play will also be staged on the square in front of the Town Hall. This should help both Parisians and tourists to have a better understanding of a piece of history which contributed to the rebellious image of Paris  . The exhibition is free and runs from 18th March to 28th May 2011.

Thank to your pass “Les Cars Rouges” take a trip down the history of Paris. Get off at stop No. 4 Notre Dame. Facing you the Arcole Bridge. Cross it, on the other side is the City Town hall Hôtel de Ville.
